Night Rate

Privacy policy

Last updated 24 October 2026

In short

Night Rate has no accounts and no servers of its own. It collects nothing: we don’t receive your name, email or anything else about you, and we don’t sell or share personal information. There are no ads, no purchases and no tracking. Your save stays on your device, and your notes from a finished night are copied to your own iCloud account, where only you and Apple hold it.

Who we are

Maple Drift Studios is the name under which Rodrigo Paulo Quaresma, an independent developer in Canada, makes games; it isn’t a company. Rodrigo makes Night Rate, is responsible for this policy and for the game’s own handling of your information, and is the person in charge of privacy (the privacy officer), reachable at the address under Contact.

Your save

Your progress through the night and your settings are saved on your device. When the night ends, your notes (what you found during the night) are kept on the device too, and, if you’re signed in to iCloud, a copy is kept in your own iCloud key-value storage. That copy is stored by Apple under your Apple Account; we can’t see it and never receive it. Your data is also included in your device’s own backups (such as iCloud Backup). Deleting the game deletes what’s on the device; the iCloud copy can be removed in your device’s iCloud storage settings. You can also delete all of it at any time with Delete saved night in the game’s settings, which empties the iCloud copy too.

Links

The game’s links to the book’s and the game’s store pages, to our support page and to this policy open outside the game, in your browser or the store’s own app, and only when you tap them. The game adds nothing to them that identifies you. Those stores and sites have their own privacy policies.

Analytics from Apple

The game itself counts nothing and sends nothing. If you’ve chosen to share data with app developers in your device’s settings, Apple gives us anonymous totals such as installs and crashes.

Children

Night Rate is a general-audience game and isn’t directed at children under 13. It collects nothing from anyone.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe, the LGPD in Brazil, Canada’s privacy laws or US state laws), you may have the right to know what personal information is held about you and to have it corrected or deleted. Because we hold no personal information about you, there’s nothing for us to send or delete. If you have a question or a complaint, write to us; in Europe you can also contact your local data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will appear here with a new date.
